Burj Khalifa – UAE

Completed in 2010, Burj Khalifa was a test of our capabilities. The façade consists of a custom design unitised system, which is pressure equalised, thermally broken and incorporates integrated external vertical fins covered with stainless steel.

Given the logistical requirements, technological demands, innovative solutions applied and, not least, the sheer physical and mental strength needed, Burj Khalifa remains a classic case study in the chronicles of construction history.

Riyadh Metro Lines – KSA

Riyadh Metro Project is an integral part of the transportation facilities developed for the city of Riyadh - providing unique elevated metro stations as well as a comprehensive network of comfortable and functional passenger facilities.

Al Ghurair Construction Aluminium was awarded and executed 10 elevated stations related to Line 4 and Line 6 of the Riyadh Metro. The project consists of 98,000 m2 of state of art façade scope including curtain walling, aluminium louver, roofing system, automatic doors and cladding systems.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System – KSA

Riyadh Bus Stops and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System Project is an integral part of the transportation facilities developed for the city of Riyadh including the new Riyadh Metro. The high-profile project provides a comprehensive network of comfortable and functional passenger facilities, most of which are architecturally designed, enclosed and fully air-conditioned.

The project includes 22km road rehabilitation works and consists of 17 pairs of Bus Rapid Transit System Stations, 1288 Totems (Feeders), 472 Bus Stops, and 5 Pedestrian Bridges.

Mashreq Bank

Dubai Opera - UAE

The façade of the prestigious Dubai Opera House consists of a 30m high glass wall supported on slim architectural steel custom made profiles that were hanging from the roof structural steel.

The West and part of North and South facades featured an aluminium mashrabiya acting as an external shading screen in front of the glazed façade.

There were several challenges during the design and execution of this façade including:

1. Cold bended glass up to 60mm
2. Very tight fabrication and installation tolerances at the glazed façade
3. Adjustable mechanism to align façade steel frame as the roof structure deflected

Conrad Hotel – UAE

Standing tall on Sheikh Zayed Road, Conrad Hotel presented challenges such as design and installation of oversized panels with dimensions of 7m height by 2.5m width, clad with 30mm granite stone, resulting in the panels weighing over 1.5 ton.

In addition to the panels, the scope included complete cladding on the link bridge and the standalone car park, as well as cladding of the 18-metre-high dome ceiling with golden aluminium panels that ensure a luxurious welcome for guests.

Msheireb Downtown Phase 1B, 2 & 3, Qatar

Al Ghurair Centre – UAE

The expansion skylights are the striking features of Al Ghurair Centre's revamped look. The North and South dome skylights span 37m and 52m respectively, creating an open space that transmits sunlight to the courts below.

The façade system lays on top of the steel and consists of an aluminium semi-unitised system, pressure equalised, thermally broken and with back-up drainage for waterproofing enhancement.

Lilian Tower, UAE

Dubai Frame, UAE

The Dubai Frame is another landmark project with façade design and execution by AGC-A.

The innovative gold finish and embossed stainless steel cladding gives The Frame facade a beautiful sparkle. The bridge elevations are clad by a glazed unitized curtain wall system.

The openings on the towers are clad with aluminium expanded mesh to allow for the air flow.

The frame façade reveals the Expo 2020 pattern by having design cut panels of gold stainless steel laid over the mesh and curtain wall facades.”

Emirates Financial Towers – UAE

Nestled in the heart of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) – Dubai's new financial district – Emirates Financial Towers is modern architecture at its finest. Completed in June 2011, the towers are connected on the 16th floor by a glass skybridge.

Bvlgari Hotel & Residence, UAE

The Bvlgari development comprises of a hotel building, 6 x six stories residential blocks, a yacht club, villas and mansions. AGC-A has supplied all the façade systems for the whole development.

The façade included: timber framed sliding doors, aluminium curtain wall systems, doors and windows, ceramic cladding, aluminium screens, balustrades, balcony dividers, canopies, brise solei’s and internal partition doors.

Fountain Views, UAE

Park Towers – UAE

One of the most striking pieces of architecture in the heart of DIFC, Park Towers features a façade system with 6,300 triangular panels, each holding a unique identity in terms of dimensions and shape.

In order to achieve a curved geometry, these unique triangular panels were installed in a semi-unitised fashion where the horizontal sub-frame anchored to the structure is pre-installed at the concrete slab edges.

Abu Dhabi Mid-field Terminal Internal Glazing, UAE

ITCC Development – KSA

Among the most challenging projects in the aluminium portfolio is the Information Technology Communications Complex (ITCC) in Riyadh, KSA – conceptualised as the first "smart city" in the Kingdom.

The façade consists of a unitised curtain wall system with screens suspended from the tower roof by tension rods and catwalks. The façade lighting fixtures transform the building envelop into a big screen where images can be displayed.

17 Parcels – KSA

Another challenging project in Riyadh was 17 Parcels, a series of unique buildings with several unique façade types and hundreds of interfaces.

Central to this iconic project are a few special features such as long-span canopies, large sunshade screens and intricate structural steel frames with highly complex shapes.

King Faisal Hospital – KSA

Nestled in downtown Jeddah, King Faisal Hospital is a tertiary specialist providing quality healthcare. The façade system consisted of a custom-designed unitised curtain wall system with special glasses integrating shading devices in the form of aluminium louvers and honeycomb.
